Child Protective Specialist and Delegate Armenta Weekes was sworn in as the appointed Vice President of Organization during an Executive Committee meeting Oct. 3.

The officers welcome her into this new position and look forward to working with her.

Voting Rights Victory in PA

Good news from Pennsylvania. USA Today reported that "A judge ruled Tuesday that a Pennsylvania law requiring voters in the swing state to produce photo identification at the polls cannot take effect for the November election."

The Union has just learned that the next court date for Damon Adams and Chereece Bell is Friday, September 28, 2012 at 9:30 am at 330 Jay Street, Brooklyn.

The hearing will take place in Room 36 on the 17-th floor. It is important to have as many people there as possible to support these two people.

The Political Action Committee Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 26, has been changed to Thursday, September 27, 2012 in observance of Yom Kippur. Join us at 6:30 pm on the 12th floor of 817 Broadway on Thursday the 27-th.

CASA Update: Medicaid Information

HRA has been handing out forms regarding Medicaid in response to the federal waiver granted to the State allowing it to redesign Medicaid, which couldhave serious implications for the CASA program.

All workers in the CASA program should review the material contained in the attached document.
