Passing the Assault Bill

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Union is in the process of lobbying the State Legislators to pass the Assault Bill – A4672 sponsored by Peter Rivera and S00641 sponsored by Marty Golden. If passed, both bills will enhance the criminal penalties for assaulting employees of a local social services district while in the performance of their duties; will elevate it to assault in the second degree, a class D felony.

Letters can also be sent to Assemblyman Joseph R. Lentol, chairman of Codes Committee. Below are two sample letters(in pdf format) that can be sent to State Senators and Assembly Members.
