Local 1457 To Merge with Local 371

Members of Local 1457 voted overwhelmingly to merge with Local 371.  The vote, counted on December 3, was 178 in favor, 13 opposed.  Local 1457 has over 400 members who work in court services and three juvenile detention centers around the City.  Alex Parker is the current president.  The merger was approved by Local 371's Executive Committee, DC 37 and AFSCME.  Local 371 President Faye Moore said, "We are very pleased to welcome these members into our Local.  We have always worked together to provide services to a common community of children."
